How to remove yourself from Epsilon

Data as of

Epsilon (Epsilon Data Management, LLC) is a marketing data company: it compiles or links consumer data used for advertising. It is registered as a data broker in California, Oregon and Vermont.

Opt out of Epsilon yourself

  1. Start from the privacy page Epsilon lists in its data broker registration: legal.epsilon.com/dsr/.
  2. Follow what Epsilon told the Oregon data broker registry about opting out:
https://legal.epsilon.com/dsr/ | Oregon residents or their authorized agent may request Epsilon to: (1) Opt-out of licensing of their personal data, and (2) or delete their personal data to opt-out of collection of their personal data. Requests may be made at https://legal.epsilon.com/dsr/ or calling toll-free (866) 267-3861. Resident's email, name, address, and date of birth required. Additional verification for delete requests. Agent requests require evidence of the agent's authority to act on the resident's behalf. https://legal.epsilon.com/us/NA-products-privacy-policy.
  3. Follow what Epsilon told the Vermont data broker registry about opting out:
A consumer may submit an opt-out request through Epsilon’s privacy choices portal (https://legal.epsilon.com/dsr) or may call 1 (888) 780-3869 to reach Epsilon’s Consumer Privacy Specialist who will need the consumer’s current full name, mailing address, and email address to process the opt-out.
    Link given there: legal.epsilon.com/dsr
  4. Or email a deletion request to privacy@epsilon.com. This is the privacy address GhostVault sends its demands to.
  5. Expect a CAPTCHA. When GhostVault tried Epsilon's web form, it stopped at a human check that you have to complete yourself.
  6. Keep a copy of what you sent and the date. Search for your name on epsilon.com again in a few weeks to check the listing is gone.

What you cannot opt out of: Epsilon told the Vermont registry: "Epsilon allows consumer to opt-out of sale of their personal data that Epsilon sells (as defined by law)"

These counts reflect replies GhostVault has on file and are not a measure of a broker's overall responsiveness. Counts are demands, not people; some customers were refiled. Delivered excludes bounced sends and sends with no delivery evidence. "Deletion stated in writing" means Epsilon wrote that it deleted the data. It is not an independent check. Figures appear only with at least 5 delivered demands from 5 different customers.

What GhostVault does for Epsilon

  • Sends Epsilon a written deletion demand under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as your authorized agent.
  • Reads every reply and tells you when Epsilon asks for something only you can give.
  • Counts a removal only when Epsilon states the deletion in writing. A sent or delivered demand is never shown as removed.
